After the release of the Sidewinder RCA, designed to work wirelessly, Dan Kubin was in search of the best Battery-pack solution on the market for his machines, but couldn’t find anything that fit perfectly.
Thanks to Workhorse Irons, Dan received a MUSOTOKU ROVER battery pack that he could test on his machines. After using it for a few weeks, he wrote to us to provide his feedback.
Dan liked the ROVER for its consistency in output power, solid construction, and the solution of replaceable cells that allowed him to work with a single battery pack while renewing the cells after months of use and wear.
At MUSOTOKU, we not only respect Dan’s work, but we also love his machines. So, we began working together on this new project.
The new model that we designed for him brings significant improvements that make it unique. It can lower its output voltage to 2.5V to work at speeds suitable for precision motors. The jumpstart is fully configurable and can be turned on or off depending on the setup. Not only is it configurable, but it’s also adaptive, meaning the startup pulse gradually decreases as the machine voltage decreases. This enhances the startup feel while respecting the motor speed regime.
We are all very proud of this collaborative effort and happy to offer a model that expands the possibilities of work while taking care of these machines.
This model has an unique extended voltage range, reaching as low as 2.5V for your delicate precision work. You can operate within the range of 2.5 to 12V, adjusting in 0.1V increments

The New Adaptive Jumpstart gradually decreases as the machine voltage decreases. This enhances the startup feel while respecting the motor speed regime.

The power bar indicates how much power your machine is currently demanding in real-time.
This feature can be used to estimate your battery’s duration.
The higher the level shown in the power bar, the faster your battery will drain.
Every machine will have a different power bar level, affecting its battery duration.
Expect a battery duration around 4h with the v46er, and around 3h with v4, v5 and v6 (each of the Li-ion batteries included).
For other machines like pen you can expect up to 7h of work.

Besides, now our NITRO Jumpstart is Adaptive, so it will adjusts automatically to the machine’s voltage.
This Adaptive Jumpstart provides extra care for your motor, since the speed pulse is lower and softer when the voltage of your setup is not very high.
Normally, other wireless batteries will inject as much as 12V even to start a machine that is working at 5V. But with the Adaptive Jumpstart you will get a pulse of only a few more volts over 5V. This will ensure a reliable and controlled motor start without unnecessary stress.
Your ROVER R-1 comes equipped with 2 replaceable Li-ion batteries.
While working, you can recharge the spare Li-ion battery, ensuring uninterrupted work.
You can even purchase additional batteries to work all day long by simply swapping them during your tattoo sessions.
These Li-ion batteries are standard (INR 18350-flat), so you can buy from your preferred provider locally or online, you are not tied to buy them from us.
On average, a Li-ion battery can last for 300 to 500 charge cycles. It’s important to note that a charge cycle is counted as one full charge from 0% to 100%, so partial charges or “top-ups” do not count as a full cycle.
With the ROVER R-1 at the end of your Li-ion battery’s life cycle, you can restore the original performance by simply replacing them.

The RCA connector is an armoured Amphenol model in gold-plated finishing.
